On January 25, first-year students of the International Faculty (group 20, dental I; group 26, dental I; group 26a, medical I) together with the teachers of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities visited the I.P. Kotliarevskyi Poltava Regional Universal Scientific Library. The librarians provided students with the structure of the library: walked on spacious floors, invited to look at different departments of various sciences. The book restoration sector turned out to be quite interesting. Foreign students stayed for a long time in the information and resource center "Window to America", which was opened with the assistance of the US Embassy in Ukraine. English-language communication clubs, feature films and lively discussions are held there. In the department of local lore the library staff presented the permanent book exhibitions “Our publications” and “Poltava region. Personalities. Events”.
Currently, I.P. Kotliarevskyi Poltava Regional Universal Scientific Library is a powerful center of work with books and information, a center of communication and leisure, development of intellectual and creative potential, which combines the performance of traditional functions with the state-of-the-art technical capabilities. The electronic catalog has more than 1 million records and includes databases “Books”, “Articles”, “Books in foreign languages”, “Articles in foreign languages”, “Notes”, “Local history”, “Periodicals”. The library also provides free access to the Internet, WI-FI, Skype, electronic databases. Photocopying and scanning of documents, virtual references, electronic delivery of documents and more is at the service of visitors.
