Dear friends!
Welcome to the website of one of the oldest higher education institutions – the Poltava State Medical University!
For many years of the development and formation, more than one generation of health professionals of various specialties has been trained and graduated from the University and entered the boundless world of medicine. They have made significant contributions to the development of both science and practical healthcare. The centennial history of the University knew more than one generation of the University graduates. Each of them with their scientific and practical achievements upscales the greater glory of the Alma Mater.
The words of the Hippocratic Oath were first heard in the walls of the Kharkiv Medical Institute in 1921. And since then, the first specialized higher education institution for dental professionals’ training has been destined for a long life, full of hard work. In 1967 the institute moved from Kharkiv to Poltava. Currently, known as Poltava State Medical University, it provides education for more than 5 thousand students, including 1350 foreign citizens from 45 different countries. Our graduates work all over the world. And this is the outpost of the University.
We are proud that for centennial we have managed to keep in our team the renowned “Maîtres”, well-known far beyond Ukraine – educators, scientists of the “old scientific school”, as well as those who continue to follow the age-old traditions of higher education to make scientific discoveries in medicine and involve students in their research, as well as to train future leading medical professionals for working at the University. So, we have people to learn from and what to learn, and most importantly, we should all to work together for the future!
I wish future entrants to take a balanced approach to choosing the profession of a doctor, and students to succeed in their studies and fruitful work in the future for the good of Ukraine!
The website of the Poltava State Medical University will be helpful in continuous search for necessary information. Good luck!
