In the jubilee year of 2021 in the history of Poltava State Medical University, on June 30, 2021 a regular graduation of highly professional specialists who are now destined to continue writing new pages of the biography of the renowned institution of medical higher education was held at the ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council.
The day seemed surprisingly sunny and extremely emotionally colored by the graduates themselves, as well as their educators and parents.
The first words of the Rector of the PSMU, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, resounded in many people’s hearts: “I declare the ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council open!” And everyone stood motionless in silence, listening to the National Anthem of Ukraine, in the crowded festive hall of the Palace of Leisure “Lystopad”, where the official graduation ceremony the Faculty of Dentistry, Medical Faculty № 1 and № 2 and the International Faculty took place.
“Three important things must be carried throughout life,” continued their Rector, Teacher and Mentor, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, in a farewell speech to his graduates.  “They are the Time, Word and Opportunities. You have already fully used the first within the walls of our University, when you diligently acquired professional knowledge, you must never forget the second, because the Word spoken by a doctor is no less important than medicine, and you need to use opportunities to prove your belonging to the most humane of professions - always! So carry the title of the Graduate of Poltava State Medical University with dignity and be worthy People! ”

The graduates were greeted by the Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Oleh Synegubov, the Mayor Oleksandr Mamai, the Director of the Department of Health of Poltava Regional State Administration Viktor Lysak, the Head of the Medical Branch of Poltava Serhiy Kotov, the Director of the Department of Education and Science of Poltava Regional State Administration Vita Kovalska and the alumnus Metropolite Novokakhovskyi and Genicheskyi Filaret.
All of them noted the significant achievements of the leading medical higher education institution and the importance of its fruitful scientific and practical activities for the public health care system of Ukraine.
