At the department, clinical case discussions of patients with various internal pathologies are traditionally held every Wednesday. This form of work is an integral element of the educational process and practical training for interns and postgraduate learners.

Clinical discussions are an important part of postgraduate education, as they ensure the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills, contribute to the development of clinical reasoning, improve differential diagnostic abilities, interpretation of laboratory and instrumental studies, and support evidence-based clinical decision-making.

Faculty members with extensive clinical experience and active involvement in research in internal medicine participate in these discussions. Interns, postgraduate doctors, and clinicians from partner hospitals who present patients with complex, rare, or comorbid conditions also take an active part in the sessions.

Each clinical case discussion follows a standardized structure, which includes the presentation of the patient and case history, analysis of complaints and anamnesis, physical examination findings, laboratory and instrumental data, formulation of a clinical diagnosis, and determination of the optimal management plan. Special attention is paid to assessing the compliance of diagnostic and therapeutic decisions with current national and international clinical guidelines, the principles of evidence-based medicine, and the individualization of treatment approaches.

Regular clinical conferences contribute to improving the quality of medical care, strengthen the link between education and medical practice, and foster a professional environment of continuous knowledge and experience exchange. Such activities create favorable conditions for interdisciplinary collaboration, promote team-based approaches to solving complex clinical problems, and provide young specialists with valuable experience in working alongside seasoned professionals.
