International staff mobility for university lecturers are a vital component of their professional development. The bilateral cooperation agreement between Poltava State Medical University and the Medical University of Warsaw within the framework of the Erasmus+ international program provides broad opportunities for such advancement.

From May 12 to May 16, 2025, Associate Professor Olena Ivanytska from the Department of Surgical Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery completed a professional practical training at the Department of Cranio- and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Surgery and Implantology at the Medical University of Warsaw, headed by Professor Paweł Zawadzki.

During the training, the lecturer familiarized herself with state-of-the-art technical equipment that enables advanced diagnostics and the performance of unique surgical interventions. She took a keen interest in the department’s scientific achievements and publications. Special attention was given to studying the organization of the educational process for future dental professionals, as well as to teaching methods focused primarily on the development of practical skills and the application of theoretical knowledge, with an emphasis on interactive learning approaches.

The practical training at the Medical University of Warsaw—the largest medical higher education institution in Poland—enabled the lecturer to gain new knowledge and practical skills, and to broaden her professional experience. These insights will be used to enhance curricula and syllabi, develop practical case studies, and improve the methodological support for academic disciplines.
