THE PSMU STUDENTS ARE THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE "ALL-UKRAINIAN WEEK OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION" AT SCHOOLS
All-Ukrainian Week of Vocational Education at schools has been recently held in Ukraine, introduced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Qualitative career guidance, especially in senior classes, is an important component of the curriculum and can be aimed at increasing the popularity of the medical specialty, namely the profession of a physician.
This year, students of the 4th-, 5th- and 6th- year of study at the Medical Faculty №1, Medical Faculty №2 and International Faculty of PSMU, led by the faculty member of the Physiology Department Tetiana Mamontova conducted career guidance work with the 11K class learners (class teacher Oksana Kanevska) of the Scientific Lyceum №3 of the Poltava City Council.
The speakers of the event were representatives of the student scientific research group "Laboratory Diagnostics" at the Department of Physiology, namely: Serhii Trotsko (5th- year student, Medical Faculty №1), Maxym Shevchenko (6th-year student, Medical Faculty №2), Berko Emmanuel Ofori (6th-year student, International Faculty), Ndu Victory (5th-year student, International Faculty), Muhammad Adib Mukrish and Hassan Haireddin (4th- year students, International Faculty).
The students presented Poltava State Medical University and told school learners how they chose the future profession of a physician, how they were able to discover their abilities and potential for scientific research work and discover their own talents while studying.
The participants of the event noted that the presentation of the university as a leading institution of higher medical education, where young people from different parts of Ukraine and the world have been studying, as well as students' own experience was a successful guarantee of professional guidance of students to responsible and conscious choice of the profession of a physician!
