On January 25, 2024, Associate Professor Yuliia Lysanets, the Department of Foreign Languages with Latin and Medical Terminology, participated in the webinar organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU), of which Poltava State Medical University is a member.

Representatives from universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Malta, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, and other countries around the world attended the webinar. During the meeting, they discussed current issues related to the interaction of higher education with democracy, sustainable development, and social justice; inclusivity, equality, cultural diversity, and intercultural dialogue in modern universities. Emphasis was placed on the important role of higher education in civil society. The webinar speakers, representatives of the Council of Europe, the International Consortium for Higher Education, Civil Responsibility and Democracy, and the executive office of the International Association of Universities, presented the results of their collaboration, as outlined in the recently published book "Higher Education Leadership for Democracy, Sustainability and Social Justice" (https://book.coe.int/fr/enseignement-superieur-et-recherche/11744-higher-education-leadership-for-democracy-sustainability-and-social-justice-council-of-europe-higher-education-series-no-26.html ).
