On July 24, 2024, Poltava State Medical University hosted a high-level business meeting with John Shmorhun, founder of MoveUkraine; Yaroslav Kalashnikov, Acting Head of the Department of Social Development and Investments of the Poltava Regional Military Administration; Yurii Myronenko, Project Coordinator, and Vitalii Somik, Deputy Rector of PSMU.
The discussion focused on the future constructive collaboration between scientists from Poltava State Medical University and foreign partner colleagues to assist MoveUkraine with highly professional medical staff, including rehabilitation doctors, occupational therapists, and psychologists. Directions and methods for joint work were outlined.
Noteworthy, the Ukrainian charity organization MoveUkraine, co-founded by partners from the USA and Switzerland, has raised over 2,000,000 USD, provided full housing and integrated 750 Ukrainians into the community in more than 18 repurposed turnkey homes in Western Ukraine. The MoveUkraine charitable foundation takes a personalized approach to each community, investing in the coordination and maintenance of the homes and in the development of a healthy and productive life for the new residents. Currently, the charitable foundation is set to start a large-scale project in the Poltava region to create modular rehabilitation units and therefore requires highly professional specialists for this.
