As part of the scientific cooperation between the Institute of Virology of the Essen University Hospital of the University of Duisburg-Essen and PSMU, Gennady Zelinskyi visited Poltava on September 15-16, 2023. He visited the M. V. Sklifosovsky Poltava Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital  and the university. During the meeting with the Rector of the PSMU Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, the Vice-rector for scientific work, Professor Igor Kaidashev, and the Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Professor Tetyana Koval they discussed the directions of further scientific cooperation, the next deliveries of laboratory equipment for the diagnosis of infectious diseases in the region.

The financing of the project of effective virological and microbiological diagnostics in Poltava was provided by the German Association for International Cooperation. This project is part of the urgent program for Ukraine from the Federal Ministry for Economic International Cooperation and Development.
