International cooperation: experience exchange in teaching microbiology within the mobility program Erasmus +, there was an

Within the framework of the bilateral agreement on academic mobility, during June 19-23, 2023, Maria Faustova, Assistant Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of the State Medical University of Warsaw, completed an internship under the Erasmus + program at the Warsaw Medical University (Poland).

During her internship, Maria Faustova visited the University Dental Center, University Clinical Center of Warsaw Medical University. There she got acquainted with the organization of work, the equipment of microbiological laboratories and methods of laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases in adults and children, as well as with the peculiarities of managing patients with diseases caused by multiresistant strains of microorganisms. During her internship at the Department of Medical Microbiology of WMU, Maria Faustova gained new knowledge and mastered practical skills regarding the latest trends in molecular genetic diagnosis of viral infections and working with viruses according to European standards.

Thanks to the Erasmus+ academic mobility program, there was an exchange of experience in teaching microbiology for various categories of higher education students between the scientific and pedagogical staff of the State Medical University and the State University of Medical Sciences, which in the future will be implemented in the educational process at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology with the aim of successful and rapid integration into the European educational space.

Maria Faustova expresses her special gratitude to Mr. Maciej Przybylski, Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Microbiology of the Medical University of Warsaw, for invaluable experience and training in virology, excellent excursions and familiarization with the history and culture of Poland, as well as for his sensitivity and support during the internship.
