As experienced people say, summer is not only a time for rest but also for productive international cooperation and professional self-development.
In July 2025, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages with Latin and Medical Terminology, Yuliia Lysanets, completed a training program at the University of Warwick (United Kingdom). As a result of collaboration with academic staff of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, a study guide entitled “Essay Writing Skills in German and English as a Second or Further Language: A Practical Guide” was developed, with its publication scheduled for autumn 2025.
In addition, at the invitation of her British colleagues, Yuliia Lysanets visited the Centre for Academic Writing (CAW) at Coventry University — one of the leading hubs of academic writing in the United Kingdom, established in 2004. The two-week visit program included a series of meetings with the Centre’s academic staff, discussions of methodological approaches to teaching academic style in higher education, observation of workshops, as well as the exchange of experience and best practices.
The acquired knowledge will be implemented in the educational process at PSMU, particularly in English-language training of PhD students.
