From August 31 to September 1, 2023, the 7th scientific research course of the Ukrainian Psychiatric Association for young specialists in the field of mental health and students was held at the Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland). Members of the student scientific group of the Department of Psychiatry, students of the Faculty of Medicine No. 1 Oksana Mats and Polina Shirai joined the event. During the course, the training program from the World Association of Psychiatry "Recent advances in Psychiatry" was held. In it, professors from Poland, France, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Georgia, the United States of America, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and Pakistan presented modern achievements in the study of post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, depression, the influence of environmental factors on mental health, and as well as genetic disorders in mental illnesses. The second day of the course was dedicated to the presentation of the participants' research and ideas. Students of the Poltava State Medical University presented two reports prepared under the scientific supervision of the Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology, Professor Andriy Skrypnikov and Associate Professor Dmytro Boyko.

2) Polina Shirai, Oksana Mats, Zoryana Karpik - "Factors associated with depression, anxiety, stress and insomnia in Ukrainian refugees in the context of Russian-Ukrainian war".
PSMU student Polina Shirai became one of the five best speakers of the course who, by the decision of the organizing committee, were awarded a grant to participate in the 23rd World Congress of Psychiatry of the World Association of Psychiatrists, which will take place from September 27 to October 1, 2023 in Vienna (Austria).
