On February 2, 2021, within the framework of international cooperation with the European University Association (EUA), representatives of the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy took part in the online meeting of the focus group working on “Internal quality assurance in times of Covid-19 crisis”. The focus group sessions provided an opportunity to share experiences and learn about practices in other participating institutions-members of the EUA.
The academy has been selected to participate in the event among 23 participants, including universities from Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Poland, Georgia, Kazakhstan and others. During discussions in small interactive groups for open exchange of experiences, participants had the opportunity to discuss key issues related to the quality assurance policy during the pandemic and the role of internal quality assurance in supporting institutions in managing the crisis. As it turned out, all participants of the focus group are overcoming similar difficulties related to the organization of the educational process, the active use of digital tools, the search for effective methods of teaching and assessment and motivating students to study under quarantine restrictions and lockdown.
UMSA’s participation in the event was made in close cooperation of the Department of Monitoring and Quality Control of Education with the Department of International Relations in the framework of the internal quality assurance system of higher education and academic activities at the academy.
