The Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities at PSMU has been celebrating the International Mother Language Day for many years in a row. Currently, most foreign students are outside Ukraine and studying online. Despite the fact that the format of the holiday has changed, the faculty staff of the department try to create an atmosphere so that every student - Hindu, Moroccan, Nigerian, Jordanian or resident of distant Turkey - feels like a part of a large friendly family, notices its multilingualism, cultural and religious diversity.

On the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, the department held a number of mini-events that became an appropriate addition to traditional classes, as they featured fiery songs from hospitable Morocco, melodies from mysterious India, and poetry recitations in Arabic, French, and Spanish. The Ukrainian anthem was solemnly performed! Students prepared and presented projects in different languages.

It is gratifying that even in the most difficult periods that our country is going through, academic groups are replenished with new world-class students. Thus, it was a pleasant surprise to meet a foreign student from Turkey. Berkan Eren entered PSMU to continue his medical education. Another language, another culture, another colorful world...

We sincerely congratulate everyone on the holiday of beauty and originality, uniqueness of languages and demonstration of unique peoples united by Ukraine!
