From April 8 to 12, 2024, Olena Klepets, Associate Professor of the Department of Biology at PSMU, completed practical training within the Erasmus+ academic exchange program at the Medical University of Warsaw (Warsaw, Poland). The traineeship took place at the Department of Medical Biology, where the PSMU representative got acquainted with the academic staff under the guidance of the Head, Professor Dr. Gabriela Olędzka, and also got an idea of the educational programs, peculiarities of the educational process organization, research areas, material and technical base for the implementation of educational and scientific activities. With the assistance of Aleksandra Vesolowska, Professor of the Department of Medical Biology at the Medical University of Warsaw, the President of Human Milk Bank organization, Olena Klepets visited the the Laboratory of Human Milk and Lactation Research at the Regional Human Milk Bank at the Warsaw Medical University on the basis of the Holy Family Hospital in Warsaw, got acquainted with the procedures for the selection of donor milk, its laboratory analysis, conditions storage and preparation for use in feeding babies, and also took part in the meeting of the working group on the problems of the development of milk banks in Ukraine. As a result of the practical training, valuable experience was gained, which will be further disseminated in the educational and scientific environment of the PSMU and the health care practice.
