The final weeks of December 2025 at Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) became a time when learning met hands-on practice, and teamwork was built on genuine interaction. During this period, the PSMU Simulation Center hosted another series of first aid training sessions within the LIFESTRAND project of the Erasmus+ Program, aimed at developing essential skills for responding to emergency situations.

Throughout the sessions, participants practiced basic life support, algorithms for controlling critical bleeding, transport immobilization of limbs, and providing assistance in cases of foreign body airway obstruction. A strong emphasis was placed on practical drills, confidence in action, and effective teamwork.

The trainings brought together representatives of various communities and professional backgrounds, including:

-15 choreographers from the Dance Family Spirit studio;

-15 athletes from the women’s team of the Poltava Regional National Team – Volleyball Club “Reshetylivka–PNPU” (Reshetylivka);

-41 residents of Poltava representing different professional fields.

Each group was unique, yet all participants shared a common goal — to know and be able to do more, so as not to lose composure in a critical moment, stay calm, support others, and, if needed, save a life.

We sincerely thank everyone who joined the trainings for their engagement, interest, and readiness to acquire life-saving skills. Special thanks go to the trainers Vladyslav Telehan and Volodymyr Dobrovolskyi for their high level of professionalism and dedication. Thanks to your expertise and ability to work with people, the training was meaningful, dynamic, and максимально beneficial for every participant.

The LIFESTRAND project of the Erasmus+ Programme is a vivid example of how international cooperation fosters a culture of safety, responsibility, and mutual support within the community. Poltava State Medical University continues to support initiatives that build practical skills essential not only for professionals, but for everyone.
