More than 300 pediatricians from 41 different countries took part in the conference: a PSMU scholar was a speaker

International cooperation in the Global Initiative for Children Surgery V Conference: "Children's Surgery as an Essential Component of Global Health: Eliminating Disparities" on February 25-26, 2024, Philippines, Manila city.

As a member of the Global Initiative for Children's Surgery, Oleksandr Maksymenko, a postgraduate student of the Department of Human Anatomy at Poltava State Medical University, was invited to attend the conference and be a speaker. There he presented a multicenter study: "Pediatric surgical care with mine-blast trauma in wartime: Epidemiology and management". The report impressed the audience.

More than 300 pediatricians from 41 different countries attended the conference, including colleagues from the Philippine Association of Pediatric Surgeons.

The goal of the conference was to create and optimize safe and effective surgical care for the entire pediatric population, regardless of gender, race, origin, or color. The global initiative is directly aimed at helping children with surgical pathology in low- and middle-income countries and countries with disaster zones and extremely limited resources.
