News about the international scientific partnership of PSМU: Conference of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) held in Berlin

On February 26-27, 2024, a conference of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), which supports Ukraine at the request of the Federal Government of Germany, took place in Berlin.

The conference, dedicated to the partnership between hospitals "Partnership in Healthcare between Ukraine and Germany: Resilience, Reconstruction, EU Accession," was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, researchers from Poltava State Medical University Professors Igor Kaidashev, Tetiana Koval, and partners from the Poltava Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital - Liudmyla Voloshyna.

Together with their German colleagues from the Essen University Hospital Professors Ulf Dittmer, Evelin Heintschel von Heinegg, Mirko Trilling, Gennadiy Zelinsky and Ursula Schrammel, preliminary results of the project "Improvement of Infectious Diseases Diagnosis" in the Poltava region were presented. The project included personnel training at the Essen University Hospital, selection and procurement of equipment and reagents, their transportation to Ukraine and organization of technical service (total cost 914 thousand euros). 

During the discussion, the achievements of cooperation between hospitals and the university were analyzed, further cooperation and its expansion were outlined. In his speech, Igor Kaidashev emphasized that the extremely effective implementation of the project is due to the rich experience of colleagues from the Essen University Hospital, the active and informal assistance of the GIZ, and the unique synergistic space built by Poltava State Medical University and healthcare institutions of the Poltava region.

Useful was the communication with another Poltava partnership in the field of rehabilitation, represented by the M.V. Sklifosovsky Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital under the leadership of Hryhorii Oksak and the Department of Health of Poltava Regional Military Administration (headed by Viktor Lysak), where further directions of cooperation were outlined.
