On October 18, 2022, the Rector of the Poltava State Medical University, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, held a meeting with the student body. It was a traditional meeting that takes place with students to discuss current issues of student life in all its aspects: studies, everyday life and leisure. The university staff and students are already used to this meeting, they are always waiting for it, because students are a restless and stubborn people. They are interested in many issues, and they know that none of them will be overlooked by the Rector.

And due to the forced online communication between students and the head of the university due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and after that - the beginning of the war with the Russian aggressor, the need for a friendly discussion was long overdue.

So, they asked about everything: this year's heating season in the dormitories, the length of the winter holidays, the conditions for receiving increased scholarships, how to optimally combine community work with the educational process, internships abroad, the possibility of research work in a vivarium, the broadcast of student radio, etc., etc. There were a lot of questions.

The meeting was fruitful and interesting for both sides. In conclusion, the Rector of the university. Professor Viacheslav Zhdan wished the active student body to continue to successfully combine educational activities with social work and not to lose youthful zeal and thirst for knowledge, because their active position in life will contribute to their successful training as specialists and patriots of their Motherland. And teachers, in turn, will arm them with fundamental knowledge and skills.

In the future, they agreed to preserve the good tradition of holding such meetings and frank discussion of current problems. In addition, the Rector reminded that the doors of his office, even without traditional meetings in a similar format, are always open to every student in case of an urgent need for personal communication.
