Participation in the International Conference "Current Trends in Evidence-Based Neonatology " in Sozopol, Bulgaria

In July 2024, within the framework of the activity of the Association of Neonatologists of Ukraine (ANU) on the development, writing, and implementation of unified clinical protocols for specialized medical care for newborns, the international conference "Current Trends in Evidence-Based Neonatology " took place. Prof. Valerii Pokhylko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities, Professor of the Department of Pediatrics No. 1 with Neonatology at PSMU, Head of the Poltava Branch of Neonatologists of Ukraine, and member of the ANU Board, participated in the working group of the Association.

At the conference, the protocols "Initial Resuscitation and Post-Resuscitation Care for Newborns" and the unified clinical protocol for specialized medical care "Therapeutic Hypothermia for Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy in Newborns" were reviewed and supplemented. Preparations for the approval of these protocols were also conducted. Academic staff, together with neonatologists from various countries, shared their experiences and discussed urgent issues concerning the need to update the protocols: "Neonatal Sepsis" and "Healthy Newborn."
