Partnership Meeting Between PSMU and Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU): Prospects for Educational and Scientific Collaboration

On September 5, 2024, another online meeting took place between representatives of Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), including Dr. Gordon Hill, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Public Health Education and Research at Glasgow Caledonian University, Assistant Head for International in the School of Health and Life Sciences and a Senior Lecturer, and Professional Lead for Paramedicine and Deputy Head of Department for Physiotherapy and Paramedicine in the School of Health and Life Sciences at GCU, Samantha Paterson. Representing PSMU were Prof. I.P. Kaidashev, Prof. T.I. Koval, Prof. I.A. Holovanova, Associate Prof. V.O. Korshenko, other department representatives, and Aia Bustandji, a third-year student of Medical Faculty No. 2.

The meeting focused on discussing further collaboration in scientific research in areas such as:

  • Aging well
  • Child and adolescent health
  • Digital science for the Common Good
  • Molecular mechanisms of long-term conditions
  • Safeguarding Health through Infection Prevention (SHIP)
  • Air pollution in wartime conditions, and more.

Additionally, the meeting covered the issues of the development and implementation of webinars, masterclasses, and lectures on topics such as physiology, emergency medicine, pre-medical care, and public health. The encouragement of educational exchanges between PSMU students and members of the GCU Emergency Care Society was also discussed.

These partnership meetings are becoming a crucial step in the mutual development of university activities. We are confident that our joint efforts will help us reach new heights in achieving strategic goals, ensuring the successful growth of our institutions, and providing advanced knowledge to our students.

The meeting was marked by an active exchange of ideas and discussions. PSMU and GCU will continue to hold joint meetings and are committed to expanding partnership cooperation.
