On February 12–13, 2026, the National Dental Implant Congress was held in Herat, Afghanistan, where Prof. Ivan Popovych, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry at Poltava State Medical University made an oral presentation.
The lecture, “Immediate Implantation and Immediate Loading in the Esthetic Zone,” generated significant professional interest among implantologists, surgeons, and prosthodontists, as it addressed one of the most complex and demanding areas of clinical practice—the anterior esthetic zone.
In his presentation, Professor Ivan Popovych outlined current protocols for immediate implantation and loading, explained the biological and biomechanical principles underlying primary implant stability, and demonstrated clinical cases with long-term treatment outcomes.
Special attention was given to patient selection criteria, ensuring primary implant stability, soft tissue management, and the creation of a natural gingival contour in the anterior region.
The lecture prompted active professional discussion and represented an important step in expanding the international scientific collaboration of Poltava State Medical University with specialists from multiple countries.
