On May 13, 2023, a regional mini-soccer tournament was held on the territory of the sports campus of PSMU for the prize of the Rector of the university, Viacheslav Zhdan, in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 7 teams of the city and region took part in it, including two teams of PSMU (students and teachers, students of the International Faculty), a team of the M.V. Sklifosovsky Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital, City Clinical Hospital No.2, Poltava Regional Clinical Medical Cardiovascular Center, Kotelva Hospital of Planned Treatment, and Regional Institution for Psychiatric Care.

The winner of the tournament was the team of the M. V. Sklifosovsky Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital, the second place was taken by the team of the Kotelva Hospital of Planned Treatment", and the third place on the podium was taken by team of students and teachers of PSMU.

The football festival turned out to be joyful and magical. At the opening of the competition, the Rector of the University Viacheslav Zhdan congratulated the team, the Head of the Regional Trade Union of Doctors Oleksandr Kuvichka, the Vice-rector for scientific pedagogical and educational work Valeriy Pokhylko and the representative of the Regional Football Association Ihor Kislota also encouraged the teams. The competition took place in a friendly but fierce struggle, because all the teams were desperately fighting for the championship. The fans, as much as they could, supported them with a stormy reaction to every successful score.

Thanks to the support of the Rector, the University administration, the Trade Union Committee and the Regional Football Association, the participants of the competition received diplomas and soccer balls, and the winners received hard-won cups and diplomas.
