Recently, an important event took place in Poltava - the Secretary General of the European Association of Local Democracy (ALDA), Mrs. Antonella Valmorbida, visited our city. Notably, ALDA is an organization that promotes good governance and civic participation at the local level in the European Union and beyond.

As part of her working trip, Ms. Antonella visited several socially important facilities, including the 2nd City Clinical Hospital of Poltava City Council.

The hospital director, DMSc, Professor Maksym Dudchenko, made a presentation during which he described the object-based exercises conducted by the staff, demonstrated the shelter, and spoke about the hospital's activities since the beginning of the large-scale war.

“At the beginning of the full-scale war, we realized that medical workers should be prepared for the most extreme situations and decided to prepare for it. We adopted the experience of our colleagues from the frontline regions, the lion's share of knowledge was passed on to us by the doctors from Kharkiv, and then we practiced everything during the exercises. Everyone participated in them - from heads of departments to interns of PSMU. And when the atrocity occurred in Poltava on September 3 this year, when the enemy launched a massive missile strike, we all stood shoulder to shoulder and worked in solidarity in a prompt and professional manner. My special thanks go to the staff of the Department of Surgery No. 1 of Poltava State Medical University, who performed the most difficult surgical interventions!”

The participants of the important meeting expressed hope that through close cooperation with ALDA, the Poltava community will be able to implement many useful projects, particularly in the healthcare sector.
