On October 14, 2025, at the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of PSMU, an educational lecture entitled “Waste Sorting: Small Steps Toward Big Changes” was held at the initiative of medical faculty students Anastasiia Kryvonis and Myroslava Maistrenko. The event took place within the ecological project MedEco.PrintLab under the UPSHIFT program, implemented by the Alium team.
During the meeting, the goals and stages of the project were presented. The initiative aims to foster environmental awareness among students, promote waste separation, and encourage responsible attitudes toward the environment.
Developing eco-awareness among students nurtures a sense of responsibility for nature, which serves as a foundation for implementing nationally adapted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
SDG 15: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, among others.
At the end of the lecture, an engaging discussion took place, during which participants shared their own ideas for introducing eco-friendly habits into the everyday life of the university community.
