A high level of linguistic culture is a sign of comprehensive personality development. In view of this, in Poltava, the spiritual capital of Ukraine, in the age-old institution of higher medical education - Poltava State Medical University, teachers, in addition to providing purely professional knowledge, also focus on correct pronunciation and compliance with the norms of the Ukrainian literary language by students. Informational and friendly communication with them is important for this, so, linguistic idioms, which are very common in our speech, are analyzed.
Together with the teachers, the students come to the conclusion that future doctors should not only be highly qualified specialists in their field, but also know and master the norms of the literary language in order to ensure the proper level of business and everyday speech. International students studying at PSMU are not left out of learning the Ukrainian language. During the years of study, they not only learn the language at a sufficient level, but also start to love it.
Therefore, the wisdom of the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates "Speak so that I can see you" finds its vivid embodiment at the university.
