The guest visit of Julie Duperron, a student from the University of Paris-Saclay, to Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) continues. Following a rich program introducing her to the university’s academic and research infrastructure, as well as its museums, Julie and her mother—Natalia Shliakhova, a graduate of the Dental Faculty of the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy—visited PSMU’s Simulation Center. There, they were shown the technical equipment of various specialized stations where students have all the necessary conditions to acquire specific skills across medical specialties and practice emergency response algorithms for cardiac arrest, bleeding, and polytrauma.

A highlight of the visit was the tour of MedSpace—a student area for learning, self-realization, and development based at Dormitory No. 2, where young people engage in creative and meaningful leisure. The tour was conducted by Denys Sosiedka, Head of the Dormitory Student Council, and his deputy Pavlo Kaplun.

The Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine at PSMU took up the baton of international cooperation. During her visit to the department, Julie explored the clinical facilities, modern educational and diagnostic equipment, and even joined the research activities—contributing to statistical analysis within the department’s current research project. It is worth noting that Julie studies Data Science, is skilled in programming, and is deeply engaged in mathematics and its biomedical applications. She has already participated in epidemiological research on breast cancer in France.

Experience exchange, joint projects, and research efforts are incredibly valuable and inspiring for both young scientists and their more senior colleagues. This fruitful collaboration is expected to result in a co-authored publication at a high European level.

And this is just the beginning—the foundation for continued, multifaceted interaction. Such is the aspiration of Julie Duperron, a French citizen with Ukrainian roots. It reflects her belief in Ukraine’s Victory and her sincere, conscious desire to contribute to the rebuilding of a free, strong, and independent Ukraine.
