At the Department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology, a master class was held for members of the student research group in honor of International Microorganism Day. The class focused on identifying clinical isolates and determining their sensitivity to antimicrobial drugs using the Vitek-2 Compact automated bacteriological analyzer. The group members listened to an engaging and informative lecture about the scientific possibilities of identifying isolates using the Vitek-2 Compact automated bacteriological analyzer. Everyone quickly and eagerly got involved in the work. After receiving isolated bacterial colonies, the student research group members began Gram staining the clinical isolates to determine the staining properties of the studied bacteria. They also used a binocular microscope to examine the morphological properties of the bacteria, followed by identification using the Vitek-2 Compact bioMérieux automated bacteriological analyzer.
