New Year and Christmas holidays in Ukraine are special events that attract and fascinate everyone. Foreign students of Poltava State Medical University have demonstrated their undisguised interest in the history and Ukrainian folk art, who recently together with the teachers of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities took part in the pre-holiday master class "Traditional Ukrainian Christmas Toy: The Magic of the Pattern."
Despite the fact that the customs and cultural stereotypes of peoples differ significantly, students eagerly listened to the traditional Ukrainian New Year and Christmas decorations, ethnic attributes that have long decorated the house, and their symbolic significance for the Ukrainian people.
With indescribable interest they made their own decorations, chose national colors, traditional patterns on the ribbons, symbolic statuettes and ornaments for Ukrainians. The work was in full swing in a relaxed friendly atmosphere of unforgettable anticipation of the holiday.
Today, the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities congratulates everyone on the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays and wishes good health, well-being, prosperity and family comfort. May the atmosphere of goodness and wonder reign in our hearts and within the walls of our home University!
