Associate Professor Maryna Zhovnir, the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Humanities at PSMU, successfully completed the traineeship program "Language Corpora Use in the Teaching of Philological Disciplines and Language Research", organized by Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany). The program aimed to familiarize academic staff of higher education institutions with the specifics of using linguistic corpora in scientific and practical teaching activities. The traineeship was conducted online in a synchronous-asynchronous format from September 16 to December 18, 2024.

The internship program included an introduction to the specifics of building the HRAK and PAVUK text corpora and exploring potential ways to use linguistic corpora in teaching language disciplines and conducting language research.

The traineeship provided an opportunity to engage with the university’s faculty and exchange experiences with colleagues from various regions of Ukraine. This year’s participants included 14 Doctors of Science and 29 PhDs from 14 cities across the country.

The exchange of valuable information with colleagues, essential insights into corpus linguistics from lecturers with extensive teaching experience in various countries, and access to educational materials on online platforms laid the foundation for the successful defense of the project "Correlation of the Phrase 'Sustainable Development' in Dictionaries and Discourse" and the receipt of a corresponding certificate.
