Ukraine-Scotland: Joint Efforts in Infection Prevention

On October 15, 2024, another partnership meeting took place with representatives from Glasgow Caledonian University, a partner of PSMU: Dr. Gordon Hill, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Public Health, Assistant Head for International Affairs at the School of Health and Life Sciences, Senior Lecturer, and Dr. Lucyna Gozdzielewska, Lecturer at the School of Health and Life Sciences and member of the "Safeguarding Health through Infection Prevention" research group at Glasgow Caledonian University. PsMU was represented by Professor Igor Kaidashev, Vice-Rector for Research and Development, and Professor Tetiana Koval, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology.

The meeting focused on discussing joint projects in the field of infection prevention. During the meeting, researchers from both institutions shared their experiences and developments in epidemiology, virology, microbiology, and antimicrobial resistance.

Key topics of discussion included opportunities for academic and research collaboration within joint projects. Both sides emphasized the importance of collective efforts to enhance the effectiveness of combating infectious diseases globally.

This meeting marks an important step toward strengthening international cooperation in healthcare and uniting efforts to reduce the risks of infectious disease spread.
