From October 15–18, 2025, the 20th Conference of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS 2025) took place in Paris, France, bringing together leading scientists and clinicians from across Europe. Professor Tetiana Koval delivered an oral presentation titled “The Impact of War on HIV and Tuberculosis Epidemics in Ukraine: Challenges in Detection and Late Diagnosis.”
In her presentation, she highlighted the increasing risks of HIV and tuberculosis spread amid full-scale aggression and outlined key approaches developed by the Ukrainian and international communities to address these medical threats. The conference also covered current strategies for HIV treatment, management of comorbid conditions, therapy for opportunistic infections, and ways to improve the effectiveness of screening and early diagnosis.
Participation of Ukrainian researchers in international forums such as EACS 2025 allows the integration of national experience into the European context and contributes to jointly developing effective solutions to safeguard public health even during wartime.
