The whole university community has been excited about this event and the best student voices were preparing for it.
And finally, here is the long-awaited start!
The Student Parliament announced in advance that the event would be charitable. The funds, raised from tickets and donations, will be donated to support the oncohematology department of the Poltava City Clinical Hospital. To do this, the appropriate boxes were installed.
The university has long been famous for its artistic, talented and singing students. This year's participants enthusiastically continued the long-standing creative tradition. They amazed and surprised the audience with extremely interesting performances. At the same time, the new Vocal Stars aspired to win a convincing victory in the main nomination of the Competition – to become the Voice of the University-2021!
Notably, they had to make great efforts to do so. The competition included two rounds and the final. In the first round, each couple presented their song. At the discretion of the jury, only one of the two singers made it to the second round. And in the second round, the performers presented a famous song of their choice. At the end, the two brightest Stars of the Competition were chosen.
The scoring was demanding and fair. The jury was headed by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Extracurricular Activities Professor Valerii Pokhylko, and the jury members were the Head of the Department of Cultural and Educational Activities Liudmila Sydorenko, Associate Professor of the Surgery Department № 3, responsible for working with 4th- year students Vitalii Drabovskyi, Chairman of the Student Parliament Oleksandr Mamai and the Chairman of the Student Trade Union Daria Artomova.
The audience also had the right to vote and to give the Audience Award.
Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko, a first-year student of the Professional Medical and Pharmaceutical College, was awarded the title of the Voice of the University-2021.
Kateryna Shchedryk, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Medicine № 2, was awarded the title of the Best Female Voice, and Abdeimounaim El Milouay, a third-year student of the International Faculty, was awarded the title of the Best Male Voice.
Aya Ouanaim, a third-year student of the International Faculty, won the Audience Award.
It was a unique event in the artistic life of the University. Emotions, of course, raged. And the voices of the performers enchanted. And although the winners have been determined, there are no losers. After all, all participants are extremely creative and talented. The jury scoring was in solidarity with the evaluation of the audience.
The university is proud of its young talents! And the organizers themselves express their sincere gratitude for the support of the event to the Rector of the PSMU, Professor Viacheslav Zhdan, as well as the Youth Humanitarian and Educational Activities Department and the departments of the Student Parliament.
