Poltava State Medical University is always searching for creative ideas and actively implement them in the educational process. Consequently, both faculty staff and students have no time to enjoy what they have already gained, and together continue working for the future achievements without slowing down.

So, at the beginning of the new 2023, they have already actively begun to implement the First Winter Academy "Infections and Immunity" Essen-Poltava."

This is a special two-week online program for senior medical students of PSMU. It consists of ten lectures on infectious diseases, immunology, HIV/AIDS. And lectures is given by the world-class researchers from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. Moreover the Program provides for discussion of lecture materials and answers to questions.

At the opening of the 1st Winter Academy on January 23, 2023, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the UDE, Professor Joachim Fundrey, made a welcoming speech. And before the first lecture, the program participants watched a presentation on the history and development of the University of Duisburg-Essen from the Director of the Institute of Virology of the UDE, Professor Ulf Dittmer.

The implementation of the program of the 1st Winter Academy will be a significant contribution to the development of internationalization of the activities of PSMU and will introduce students of our university to the best advanced achievements in the field of science and education.
